Arable
Since 2015 Kaiapoi has farmed thousands of acres of Wheat, Barley, Oilseed Rape, Borage, Grass Seed, Oats and even Quinoa. While based solely in the UK Kaiapoi had a highly integrated system with the arable and sheep. Growing 6 crops in 4 years, two grazed by the sheep in situ. Following the purchase of the First French Farm in 2026 and the crash of UK arable farming, Kaiapoi has simplified and scaled back it's arable enterprise to just under 1000ac of Winter Wheat and Maize.

Kaiapoi uses all the latest technology and best agronomic information to use inputs as sparingly as possible for the benefit of the environment and the profitability of the business. The wheat is established with a Mzuri strip til drill, placing the seed in fantastic conditions right where the seed needs them but without disturbing more of the soil than is neccesary.

Kaiapoi integrates environmental schemes alongside arable agriculture on its UK farms to encourage beneficial insects, reduce nitrogen and pesticide use and improve the condition of the soil.
Brown Hares and Grey Partridge are two particular focus species for our agreements. Numbers of both have swelled over the years to help ensure the future of the species in the area.
